In December 2002 Tony Filosa and Jo Christmas opened
Bizzarro, their aim to serve traditional Italian food in comfortable,
cosy surroundings. You can find this little taste of Italy on
historic Wormgate a cobbled street behind St Botolphs Church just
off the market place. In true Italian style all meals are freshly
prepared using the best of local produce with some authentic essentials
being imported from Italy.
Bizzarro has four dining rooms set over two floors of the Georgian
townhouse it occupies, the quirky character of the 17th century
building adding to the whole dining experience. Take a seat and
enjoy a relaxed meal, choosing either from our imaginative menu
or from the ever changing daily specials. Our food
is complimented by a wide choice of Italian wines including Pinot
Grigio; Chianti and a sparkling Prosecco or maybe you would prefer
a chilled glass of Peroni Nastro Azzurro the premium Italian beer.
Menu choices could encompass chargrilled aubergine and goats
cheese crostini, fresh egg pasta carbonara, or maybe oven roast
chicken breast stuffed with pancetta and gorgonzola and wrapped
in Parma ham, to finish you could try our homemade ice cream made
with local free range eggs to the Filosa secret family recipe
or a rich slice of lemon polenta cake topped with mascarpone.
We hope this taster has whetted your appetite
and look forward to seeing you at Bizzarro, booking is advisable
especially at the weekend.
